Nagpur University
Nagpur University was established in 1923. By 1947, had over 9000 students registered along with significant increase in the number of subjects and curriculum. In 2005, the University was renamed Rashtrasanth Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Currently it has 842 colleges affiliated to it in the entire Maharashtra.
The university has its old campus near Maharajbagh Zoo and the new campus near Futala lake.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate courses in sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, home science, medicine, commerce, education, engineering and technology, law, ayurveda. It also has MPhil, PhD and Post-Doc research programs.
Being one of the oldest colleges in India, Nagpur University boasts of notable alumni like Late P V Narsimha Rao, Nitin Gadkari, Devandra Fadnavis, Swati Dandekar and many others.
Basic eligibility criteria for UG courses is 12th pass or equivalent from a recognised board. For PG courses, candidates must be graduates in relevant fields with an entrance exam. For MBA, MCA, BEd, MHA-CET scores are also valid.
Rajasthan University, Jaipur
The University of Rajasthan was established in 1947, recognised from the time of its inception. Initially Rajputana University, it was renamed in the year 1956 as the University of Rajasthan. The central campus is spread over 338.14 acres and the satellite campus. It has many UG and PG colleges affiliated to it.
The University offers higher education in faculty of arts, sciences, commerce, education, engineering and technology, fine arts, law, management and social sciences. It also has PhD, MPhil and many other programs.
Rajasthan University has the distinction of having more than 2770 research papers in referred journals and more than 550 books authored by its faculty members. The research projects are funded by various national agencies. The faculty also participates in international collaborations and programs with research institutes from countries in the west.
Minimum eligibility is 10+2 years of education for UG courses and scores in URATPG and marks in qualifying degree in case of PG courses. The selection for other departments are done in consultation with the respective departments.
Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram
Initially, University of Travancore, established in 1937, was one of the 1st 16 universities of India. After the unified state of Kerala came into being with most of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar areas becoming a part of it, the Kerala University Act was brought into force and the University was renamed as the University of Kerala.
The University has over 150 affiliated colleges with over 84,000 students. It is ranked 47th in India overall and 29th among universities.
The University offers UG and PG faculties in applied sciences and technology, arts, ayurveda and siddha, commerce, dentistry, education, engineering and technology, fine arts, homoeopathy, law, management studies, medicine, oriental studies, physical education, science, social studies.
Apart from the standard eligibility with years of education for UG and PG courses, for admissions to the UG and PG programs, the University conducts an entrance exam for some while for some other courses, it is based on merit. For BTech- KEAM entrance exam, for BArch- NATA, for M.Tech- GATE.
Kakatiya University
Kakatiya University, located in Warangal, was established in 1976. It has grown enormously from the time of its commencement from a postgraduate college with 4 departments to 222 programs in the UG and PG levels in various faculties. It has 529 affiliated colleges covering 4 districts of Telangana. It is Grade ‘A’ accredited and covers over 640 acres area.
The University offers UG and PG courses in the faculties of arts, science, commerce and management, education, engineering, law, pharmacy social studies and oriental studies. Also the University has a School of distance Learning and Continuous Education that offers programs through distance mode. The research activities are carried out in collaboration with many funding agencies and several research institutes and universities.

Kanpur University
One of the largest universities in Asia, the now Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, was established as the Kanpur University in 1966. It is located in Kanpur and has 170 affiliated colleges in 15 districts. With a campus of 264 acres, it offers faculties of life sciences, business management, education, English. The PG and UG programs and the MPhil and PhD programs are offered in the affiliated colleges in disciplines of art, science, commerce, law, engineering and medicine. The University also has a department of Adult and Continuing education, computer centre, Communication and College Development Council.
For admissions, the regular eligibility criteria of number of years of education is mandatory for the UG and PG programs with a previous relevant subject background and the following entrance exams respectively.
