As everyone know admission to IIT and NIT is done through JEE Main exam. You need to have at least 75% marks in 12th class or be in top 20 percentile in the 12th class of your board.
As per the new rule class 12th marks will not be taken into account for JEE exam. However, the eligibility criteria still holds. The JEE MAIN 2018 rank will be prepared with the scored of JEE exam. The score are arranged in merit and rank is awarded on this basis only.
Required subjects for eligibility
- A total of 5 subjects are taken into account for calculation of percentile and normalization of qualifying marks. These subjects are Physics, Math, (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical vocation).
- What happens in case of tie?
- If 2 or more candidates obtain equal marks then merit will be decided according to the below rules.
- The candidates with higher marks in Math will be given better rank.
- If marks in math are equal then merit list will be decided by Physics marks.
- The candidates having equal marks in Math and Physics will get rank according to their positive and negative marks ratio.
- If the resolution is not possible after this criteria, candidates will be given the same rank.
Criteria for B.arch students
- The candidates having higher marks in aptitude test will get good rank.
- If marks in aptitude test is same then drawing test is taken into consideration for rank.
- If the resolution is not possible after this criteria, candidates will be given the same rank.
