CAT stands for Common Admission Test. It is conducted once in a year by IIM for providing admission to various postgraduate management programmes like MBA. CAT 2018 Exam Date
As CAT is quite tough, it’s always better to start preparation as early as possible. If you are planning for CAT 2018, it is the best time to make plan accordingly. CAT Exam Pattern And Format
CAT Exam 2018 will be held as computer based test (CBT) with a duration of 180 minutes. Total 3 sections are there and sixty minutes duration is alloted for each section. There will be total 100 nos of questions in the question paper. For each correct answer candidates can score +3 points and -1 point for each negative answer. No points are given for questions that are not answered. The question paper will be divided into 3 parts- Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VRC) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR). The QA and VRC sections consist of 34 questions, whereas the DILR section contains only 32 questions.
How To Prepare For CAT 2018
- Check out the syllabus first and start your preparation with the weaker section.
- As you have a very long time, you can join classes to crack the CAT 2018 easily.
- Learn time management and half of the CAT exam is cracked.
- Read editorial sections of The Hindu..Economic times, New York times (online version), The Economist etc regularly.
- Try to maintain good scores if you are in graduation.
CAT 2018 Cut-Off
CAT 2018 cut-off will be depend upon various things likes number of institutions participatin in CAT, number of candidates appeared, availability of seats etc. Cut-off marks also varies from categories to categories like SC, ST, OBC and DA/PwD. Cut-off marks for CAT 2018 will be released only after the declaration of result.
Fonal selection for CAT 2018 will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the exam & marks obtained in Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) organized by IIMs. Alng with these things student’s overall academic records and work experience (if any) will also be considered.
